How This Blog Works
So lately there has been confusion on the part of some of my readers as to how this blog works.
I thought I had explained the workings of this blog well enough in the “Business” section on the lower left of the table of contents, but I guess not.
Let me drop some science…
Any written content that I claim authorship of is published in italics. That which I do not claim authorship of is not published in italics. There may be some posts where I forgot to italicize the content I personally created. Tough titty.
Written content contained herein that was not created by me will have a source indicated. It will include either the author’s name, or in the case of news articles it will include the name of the source, such as “Associated Press” or similar.
Regarding images, readers can tell which images were created and are owned by me because I will write “here is a picture I took” or some clear variation on that in regard to said images. I’m really proud of the pictures I take and I want you to know it.
In the spirit of sharing that makes the blogosphere so much fun, you hereby have my permission to steal any images created by and owned by me, and to publish them willy-nilly where you may. Knock yourself out.
All other images presented on this blog are not owned by me, were not created by me, and were taken from other websites without the previous user’s permission.
It should be pointed out that at no point do I claim ownership of any images taken from other websites, and do not profit from their use. If only…
To the extent feasible, but not universally, I credit where I’ve stolen said pictures from, such as “The Metropolitan Museum” or similar. I would credit all previous users of said images, but to be honest I use hundreds of images a month and I just don’t have the time.
I am OK with this since 99.99999% of the time, the previous user stole the images from someone else, who stole them from someone else, who stole them from someone else, etc.
An exception can be seen in articles I write under the category “Awesome Artist Profiles.” Those articles feature images that are posted with the artist’s kind permission.
This blog is not a scholarly exercise. It is not written according to any manual of style, and does not have footnotes, a bibliography, or any other, related paraphernalia. Most of the time I write whatever pops into my head at any given moment, and usually I don’t even spell check it. Please feel free to point out any misspellings you find, I hate misspellings.
If you expect my blog to conform to any sort of professional standards, then please start paying me for the opportunity to read it. Then it will truly be a professional enterprise, and I will publish it accordingly.
As this blog is something free that I create and that you read in your spare time, I suggest you chill the fuck out and enjoy it for what it is.
Finally, regarding comments left on this blog. I respect your right to a different opinion than mine, even if you’re wrong and a complete retard. If you feel moved to post a comment, and I sincerely hope you will, please be forewarned that if your comment serves only to prove that you’re an idiot you will be subjected to a profanity-laced response from myself. That’s just my funny way of saying I love you.
Thank you. Thank you very much.
