OK, OK, I realize that making fun of Christians, southerners, Republicans and the rest of Idiot America is like picking low-hanging fruit and should be beneath a deep thinker like me.
But dammit, it’s so much fun and I fucking love it!!!!!!!!
Here’s an awesome video of a creepy and sexist “covenant ceremony,” which appears to be little more than another excuse for men to publicly assert their dominance over stupid women with low self-esteem.
It’s tough to tell how old the tape is; judging by the clothes I’d say if it were shot north of the Mason-Dixon Line it could be as old as the ‘80s, but since it was shot in the south it could be from yesterday.
Call me crazy, but I guess it’s the part where the women say to their husbands, “I rejoice in your leadership, I defer to your wisdom, I thank you for your provision…” that disturbs the shit out of me.
That being said, I’m often shocked by women right here in the great state of New York who act like feminism never happened, so maybe I’m just someone whose youth was disproportionately impacted by ‘60s and ‘70s radicalism and the majority of women today want a big, strong man to tell them how to act and what to think.
